Start with the use
Define how the customer opens the pack, removes the contents and disposes of the empty packaging. A fold-open card, a peel-open cavity and a separated liquid container are different packaging briefs. Do not use the words interchangeably.
Match the process to the product
A solid item needs a feeding and placement method. A flowing formulation needs a dosing method. A gel formed inside a cavity adds temperature and cooling requirements. Ask for a process sequence that reflects the actual product.
Compare machines on the same basis
Use the same formulation, pack drawing, material specification and finished-output target for every proposal. Compare usable cavity dimensions, forming depth, web width, electrical supply and air requirements. A model number alone does not define the complete configuration.
Make the opening method a sample requirement
Provide an approved pack sample or opening brief. Ask for representative filled packs before agreeing tooling, then inspect how the pack opens, dispenses and remains sealed before use. This is a project acceptance requirement, not a performance claim.
Turn your brief into a configuration discussion.
Share the product, pack format and installation details.
