Define the product
Describe the formulation, nominal dose, viscosity and temperature. Note whether the product foams, contains particles or changes consistency during handling.
Draw the finished pack
Provide dimensions, cavity or card layout, opening method and the number of units in each pack. A finished sample and a dimensioned drawing communicate different, useful details.
Specify packaging materials
Identify forming and lidding materials, thickness and printed-film registration requirements. Material choice and sealing requirements belong in the same discussion.
Separate cycle rate from output
Ask for finished packs per minute under your stated conditions. A machine cycle rate alone does not establish finished output: the layout, filling process and number of packs per cycle also matter.
Plan the installation
Confirm voltage, frequency, phase, compressed air, cooling needs and available space. Allow room for operators, access, materials and connected equipment.
Agree acceptance criteria
Define what a successful run looks like with your product and packaging. Include the fill requirement, seal integrity, appearance, output and the conditions under which these will be evaluated.
Put your requirements together.
