How to specify an eye patch packaging project

Begin by stating whether the hydrogel is filled and set in the packaging cavity or whether a preformed patch is placed into a tray. Then define the patch geometry, serum or gel dose, temperature conditions and sealed-pack layout.

Describe the actual product route

Provide the formulation information needed to evaluate dispensing and handling. Identify whether the patch is preformed or formed in the pack. A machine demonstration with a different gel does not establish suitability for your formulation.

Draw the cavity and finished pack

Specify patch outline, cavity dimensions, patches per pack, seal area, opening direction and any printed registration requirements. Include both primary packaging materials and the desired secondary pack.

Define temperature and cooling inputs

For a process that uses heated gel, give the required dispensing conditions and the temperature profile needed before sealing and handling. For preformed patches, define how the patches and any liquid are placed without disturbing the seal area.

Agree what the trial must show

Use representative gel or patches and packaging materials. Define checks for fill or patch placement, seal quality, opening, handling damage and accepted output. These are suggested project checks, not a declaration that a particular machine has passed them.

Turn your brief into a configuration discussion.

Share the product, pack format and installation details.
